The Permanent Arbitration at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia was founded in 2016, in lieu of two long-standing independent arbitration institutions that existed at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia: the Foreign Trade Court of Arbitration and the Permanent Court of Arbitration. Provided its jurisdiction is agreed upon by the parties, the Permanent Arbitration has jurisdiction to settle disputes arising out of both, international and purely “domestic” business relations. As a fully equipped institution, the Permanent Arbitration also conducts international mediation and conciliation proceedings.
The Permanent Arbitration is an open arbitration institution of a general type. Its jurisdiction may be agreed irrespective of the parties’ nationality or their membership in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia. Arbitration procedure before the Permanent Arbitration may be governed either by the Rules of the Permanent Arbitration, or by the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules (which are applicable only in international arbitration proceedings).
Being an institution that offers modern and efficient dispute resolution, the Permanent Arbitration proudly relies on the seventy-year long practice of the Foreign Trade Court of Arbitration and the Permanent Court of Arbitration. Thousands of administered cases and successfully enforced awards, in the country and internationally, stand as a guarantee of its objectivity, neutrality and expertise.
The seat of the Permanent Arbitration is in Belgrade.
Recommended Clause:
“The parties agree that any dispute arising out of or in connection with the present contract shall be finally settled by the Permanent Arbitration at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia by application of its Rules”
